Mild and Wet
It's a warm and mild start to your week. There is light to moderate rain pushing through the region, but there is also a light wintry mix near southeastern NH where temperatures are in the 30s. Clouds will hang tough today with scattered rain blanketing our neighborhoods all day. There will be a lull around the early afternoon hours with a few spotty showers around. Highs will range from near 50F far north and west (i.e. southwestern NH) to as mild as the lower and middle 60s for southeastern Massachusetts. A line of rain will move through tonight as a signal that a cold front is passing by. Rainfall amounts of .50-1.0" will fall from this morning through tonight. Winds will shift behind the passage of a cold front tonight. In its wake, Tuesday will become mostly sunny with highs back to the middle 40s.
Wednesday will also be a bright, sunshiny day with more clouds across southeastern Massachusetts due to an area of low pressure well offshore. Highs will be in the lower 40s. Thursday and Friday will be filled with sunshine as well as high temps between 45-50F.
This weekend's synopsis---The GFSx and the EURO both have Saturday as a dry day with highs between 45-50F. Then, it appears that a wintry mix will set-in during the day on Sunday as the 540 line cuts through the southeastern portion of the state horizontally. The models are slightly different as to where the precipitation will be rain and/or snow. However, both models show potential for a wintry mix, especially north of the Mass Pike. We will be watching this closely.
Welcome back to work and school...
