'Mike And Molly' Star Billy Gardell In Boston For Comedy Event
BOSTON (CBS) - His popular TV character met the love of his life at an overeater's anonymous meeting.
Now he's in Boston indulging in some stand-up comedy for a great cause.
Billy Gardell, who is best known as the co-star of CBS's "Mike and Molly," stopped by WBZ-TV Friday morning.
He's getting ready for the new season of his hit show, which premieres September 24.
The Pittsburgh native said he's excited for that and for a big show Friday night in Dorchester.
"I actually like coming to Boston. I have a lot of buddies that are comics up here and one of my dear friends, Jack Lynch, helped put together a benefit for a place called Right Turn. He runs a group called Comics for Recovery.com and they are always in some kind of service trying to help people turn their lives around," he told WBZ.
Gardell's show is at 8 p.m. at the Strand Theater.
Tickets are $25.
