Men Change Plea In Harvard Shooting
WOBURN (AP) -- Two of three men charged with killing a Cambridge man in a Harvard dorm have reached plea deals and will cooperate with prosecutors.
Blayn Jiggetts and Jason Aquino reached the agreements Friday with Middlesex District Attorney Gerard Leone and will cooperate in his murder case against Jabrai Jordan Copney.
Aquino's attorney told The Boston Globe his client will plead guilty to manslaughter on Thursday. Jiggetts' attorney declined comment, but Jiggetts took the stand Friday in his new role as a prosecution witness.
Jiggetts testified the three men had gone to Harvard in 2009 intending to steal drugs from Justin Cosby, and that Copney shot Cosby.
Copney's former girlfriend was Harvard student Brittany Smith, who has pleaded not guilty to hiding the murder weapon and helping the men escape to New York City, where they lived.
