Memorial Day Services Held Throughout Commonwealth
BOSTON (CBS) --Memorial Day Services were being held throughout the Commonwealth Monday.
At Hyde Park, past commander of the American Legion Jack Moran said while the significance of the holiday may be lost on some people, there are young people who are keeping the meaning of the day alive.

"We see these young men and women, even wounded, they are still dedicated," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karen Twomey. "It's heart warming to see these beautiful people.
Moran said the best way to thank a veteran is to go up to them, thank them for their service and shake their hand.
In Stoughton, a World War I veteran was honored. Vincent Healey served in the Navy, but it was what he did after that left an impact on the town. He was the guiding force behind the VFW hall and veterans housing.
On Monday, the square outside his home was named after him.
