Medford Native Killed In Boston Marathon Bombings
BOSTON (CBS/AP) — A 29-year-old restaurant manager has been identified as one of three people killed in the bombing at the Boston Marathon.
The family of Krystle Campbell said they were originally told their daughter was in surgery but when they went into the room, they realized the woman was not their daughter.
That's when they were told Campbell was dead.
"We're heartbroken at the death of our daughter," Campbell's mother Patty read amid tears, outside the family home.
"She was a wonderful person, everybody that knew her loved her. She loved her dogs, she had a heart of gold. I couldn't ask for a better daughter. I can't believe this is happening. It doesn't make any sense."
Her father says Campbell had gone with her best friend to take a picture of the friend's boyfriend crossing the finish line on Monday afternoon.
William Campbell says his daughter, who worked at Jimmy's Steer House in nearby Arlington, was "very caring, very loving person, and was daddy's little girl." He says the loss has devastated the family.
He says the friend was seriously injured in the explosion.
An 8-year-old, Martin Richard of Boston, also died. He was at the finish line watching the race with his family.
