McQuaid On Adam Jones Show: Every Playoff Series Is A New Start
BOSTON (CBS) - All that is standing between the Boston Bruins and their second Stanley Cup Championship in the last three years is the Chicago Blackhawks.
After sweeping the top-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins out of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Bruins are flying high and brimming with confidence. But that doesn't mean they are expecting to roll as easily over Chicago -- especially with the Cup on the line.
"There's no question its going to be a hard-fought series. It's another team that has a lot of depth, and maybe a little more grit than we've seen," defenseman Adam McQuaid said of the Blackhawks Monday night on 98.5 The Sports Hub's The Adam Jones Show. "It's going to be a challenge, but if we're focused and ready to go we'll give ourselves a good chance."

McQuaid was the Boston's lone goal-scorer in their Game 4 clincher over Pittsburgh last Friday, something the defenseman hasn't experienced much in his career.
"I don't think I've ever been in that situation before, so it was a pretty cool moment," he said of his game-winner.
As a unit, the Boston defense has scored 15 of the Bruins' 50 goals this postseason.
"I don't know if we've changed a whole lot," he said of the blue-liners scoring success. "The forwards are doing a great job finding us at the right times and we're just trying to get our shots through."
Kalman: As Stanley Cup Awaits, McQuaid Moves On From Game-Winner
Boston heads off to Chicago on Tuesday with plenty of Cup experience, having been there just two years ago.
"I think the experience, there is no substitute. Having gone through what we did a few years ago, you don't want to lean on that but you can kind of draw from it on certain times," he said. "Every year, every playoff series is a new start and we need to make sure we're approaching this with the right attitude. Just because we've been there before doesn't mean anything unless we come out with the right mind-frame and right work ethic."
