The first Test Car will be delivered to the MBTA in December of 2011.
"They're on schedule to be delivered to Boston by the end of this year, and be in service by mid-to-late next year," said Davey.
The MBTA has ordered 75 of the double-deckers at a price tag of $190 million total. The new ones will replace the older, single-level coaches that riders use primarily north of Boston.
