Matt Brown Drops Ceremonial Puck At Bruins Game
BOSTON (CBS) – Paralyzed Norwood High School hockey player Matt Brown dropped the ceremonial first puck at the Boston Bruins game against the New York Islanders Saturday.
Brown made his way to center ice in his new state-of-the-art wheelchair.
Brown received the wheelchair thanks to funds raised at the Matt Brown Gala hosted by the Boston Bruins Foundation and the TD Garden.
The chair allows him mobility while in the upright position.
Matt was joined on the ice by Bruins captain, Zdeno Chara, Executive Director of the Bruins Foundation Bob Sweeney, Vice President of Business Development for Journey Forward Dan Cummings, and Matt's father, Mike Brown.
Matt broke his neck in a collision into the boards during a game in January 2010.
