Keller @ Large: Your Massachusetts State Slogans
BOSTON (CBS) - Every time I turn a question over to the WBZ audience, you come through. And Monday was no exception.
After recounting the fiasco in Rhode Island where the tourism marketing chief lost her job over a botched video and slogan rollout, I asked you to help me come up with something to replace the lame Massachusetts slogan, "It's All Here."
And you responded.
Taxes seem to be on the minds of many of you. John G. suggested: "Massachusetts: Our taxes are lower than Sweden's." From: Josh S.: "If you make it, we'll tax it." And from Steve P.: "Live Free or Here."
New Hampshire's "Live Free or Die" slogan seemed to resonate with our respondents, who submitted several variations on that theme. David B. offered "Live Free and Sleep In." And my favorite, from Jerald N: "Live Free From Traffic Rules Or Die."
Weather is on our minds, understandably. Jacqueline L. came up with: "Massachusetts: All Four Seasons in Five Days." And from David P.: "Massachusetts: A State with Two Seasons, Winter and Construction."
But the most common theme was bad attitude.
As Sean F. put it: "Massachusetts: We Don't Care and it Shows." Or as Keith L. explains: "Welcome to Massachusetts, We're Not Happy Until You're Not Happy."
Don't get us wrong. We want visitors to come here and spend all their money.
And then, as Henley B. put it: "Get in your Lexus and Drive Back to Texas."
