Mass. Teen Killed During Family Cross-Country Drive In Minnesota
BEAVER CREEK, Minn. (CBS) – A teenager from Hubbardston was killed in a crash in Minnesota early Tuesday morning, during a cross-country trip with his family.
43-year-old Pamela Roper and her six children were driving from Massachusetts to a family event on the West Coast when their 2000 Dodge Durango went off Interstate 90 just after 4 a.m. near the town of Beaver Creek.
The SUV hit a bridge embankment and rolled over, landing on its wheels.
Police say 14-year-old Daniel Davis was not wearing a seat belt and was killed.
Three of Roper's children - ages 7, 9, and 11 - were critically hurt.
Roper, her four-year-old son, and 19-year-old daughter were treated at a hospital and released.
There's no word yet on what caused the crash.
The road conditions were dry at the time.
Hubbardston is northwest of Worcester.
