Mass. Sen. Pres. Therese Murray On Finland Trade Mission
BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray is leading a bipartisan trade mission to Finland to try to open European business markets and expand opportunities for Massachusetts companies,
Murray is leaving Massachusetts on Saturday and will return Thursday.
She said another goal of the six-day mission is to promote Massachusetts for health care technology and life sciences in the United States.
The delegation accompanying Murray will include representatives from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and the University of Massachusetts.
Murray will also be joined by Weymouth Republican Sen. Robert Hedlund and Ashland Democratic Sen. Karen Spilka, who is co-chair of the Legislature's economic development committee.
Murray said she does not use state money for travel.
