Mass. Gets C+ On Boston Foundation Health Report Card
The third annual Healthy People/Healthy Economy report card from the Boston Foundation gives Massachusetts a C +, overall, when it comes to health and wellness.
That's up from a C - last year.
Boston Foundation Program Director Allison Bauer says for instance, Fitchburg was able to show a 10-percent decrease in overall body mass of its school students, thanks to the whole city getting on the bandwagon.
"Not only are the schools involved but the community, the municipality, is involved, the businesses are involved," Bauer said. "Everybody is taking a roll in this and seeing it as changing the way of life for people in the community. "
Bauer says we still need to stay away from those sugary sodas, and emphasize physical activity in schools.
