Mass. Court Hears Appeal In 2010 Fatal Huntington Boating Crash
BOSTON (CBS/AP) --- Massachusetts' highest court heard an appeal Monday from a man convicted in the death of a 10-year-old boy in a boating accident.
Gus Adamopoulos, of Ludlow, died in August 2010 after a power boat driven by Steven Morse slammed into a kayak the boy and his father were fishing from.

Prosecutors say Morse was impaired because he had had five beers and smoked marijuana the day of the accident. Morse's lawyer says prosecutors never proved Morse was impaired. During his trial, Morse's lawyer said he was temporarily blinded by the sun when he struck the kayak.
Morse was convicted of homicide by vessel and misleading police. He was sentenced to serve five years in jail.
"It's been part of a three year journey into hell and now today, we sit here and we have to watch the appeal process of a man who killed our son, and as he watched him lie dying on the shoreline, he lied to police," Jim Adamopoulos, Gus' father told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
Monday, lawyers for Morse once again argued that prosecutors never proved Morse was impaired and that he was blinded by the sun at the time of the crash.
