Martin Richard's Father Shares Message At 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
BOSTON (CBS) – The father of Boston Marathon bombing victim Martin Richard made a rare public appearance Wednesday at a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the State House.

Bill Richard shared this brief message with the relatives and friends of those who lost loved ones in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
"We sit beneath the night sky by the whisper of the wind's song and the quiet of darkness and they are never far. Those we have loved and cherished, those who have changed our lives in some small or profound way are closer than we know because it is their light that shines on our world.
It is the brilliance of their souls that makes our night sky glow. On behalf of my family and others who suffered loss on April 15th, I'd like to thank the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund for sharing their day and may God bless us all. Thank you."
Martin Richard was just eight years old when he died in the marathon bombings. He was the youngest of the three people killed in the April 15 attack on Boylston Street.
His seven-year-old sister Jane lost a leg in the explosion. His mother Denise suffered a head injury and lost vision in one eye.
Bill Richard had shrapnel wounds and burns to his legs. He also lost part of his hearing.
