Patriots Acquire Tight End Martellus Bennett From Bears
BOSTON (CBS) – The Patriots are reportedly poised to add another offensive weapon to their roster.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that while the terms are being finalized, the Patriots and Bears are expected to exchange mid-round draft picks while New England receives tight end Martellus Bennett.
Bennett would form a dynamic two-tight end duo along with Rob Gronkowski.
In the 2015-16 season, Bennett had three touchdowns and 439 receiving yards while missing five games due to injury.
He has 3,586 yards and 23 touchdowns for his career.
The Patriots have not yet confirmed the trade.
