Marshfield Welcomes Home Wounded Soldier
MARSHFIELD (CBS) --- After being seriously wounded in Afghanistan, a soldier returns home.
Staff Sergeant Brienne Travers Sullivan lost her left eye in an ambush.
She's spent the past three years recovering at military hospitals around the world and in the United States.
On Saturday, she returned home.
Dozens of family and friends gathered in front of Sullivan's home.
She received the Purple Heart in 2010.
Since then the road to recovery has been hard with many surgeries.
Escorted by police, Sullivan and her husband Joseph rode into town from Washington D.C. and were greeted with fanfare of love and motorcycles.
With her military dog by her side to assist her, she will try to get back to a sense of normalcy now.
