Markey, Lynch To Debate At UMass-Lowell
LOWELL (CBS/AP) — The two Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate are meeting for a debate at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
A panel of UMass Lowell students will question U.S. Reps. Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch during Monday night's debate, moderated by media entrepreneur and reporter Jaclyn Cashman.
The debate is sponsored UMass Lowell's Center for Public Opinion and the Boston Herald.
The public is invited on a first-come, first-seated basis and can submit questions for the candidates via Twitter.
Lynch and Markey are vying for the Senate seat vacated when John Kerry became Secretary of State.
The two congressmen will hold their final debate before the April 30 primary on April 22. It will be seen live on WBZ-TV, CBSBoston.com and WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
The three Republicans running will debate Wednesday, April 10, live on WBZ-TV, CBSBoston.com and WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
The general election will be held June 25.
