March 'In Like A Lamb'
It's March 1...the beginning of spring, meteorologically. Happy Spring!
Today, the sun will be shining, and the winds will gradually calm throughout the day. Highs will range from the middle 30s to near 40F across SE Mass.. The quiet weather will prevail for the workweek. There will only be 'one fly in the ointment'. An Alberta Clipper, centered to our north, will sweep a weak cold front through late-day Wednesday. This will be the culprit for more cloud cover and also a slight chance of a brief rain/snow shower in the afternoon/early evening.
The next storm moves closer this weekend. Models are showing the chance of a rain/snow shower Friday evening as a warm front pushes northward. Then, models are having minor timing discrepancies with the cold front. The GFS the cold front producing showers (T) PM Sunday into Monday midday as a second wave of low pressure develops along the front. The EURO holds the rain off until late Sunday night and keeps it going through the Monday evening.
