Marc Savard To Attend Parade, Bruins Want His Name On Cup
BOSTON (CBS) - Injured Bruins center Marc Savard will be at the Stanley Cup parade on Saturday, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said Friday.
In his end-of-season press conference, Chiarelli said Savard is on his way to Boston and will be in attendance when the team holds their first Stanley Cup Parade in 39-years.
Savard played in only 25 games during the 2010-11 season while dealing with lingering effects of a concussion suffered from the Matt Cooke hit in 2010. He started the year on the IR, suffering from headaches, depression and memory loss. He returned in December, but was sidelined for the rest of the year after suffering another concussion in February.

But Savard, who was at numerous playoff games this season, will not miss what is sure to be one of the biggest parties Boston has hosted.

Chiarelli also said the team will petition for Savard, and injured defenseman Steven Kampfer, to have their name etched on the Stanley Cup Trophy.
