Marathon Moments Of Silence Held For Newtown Shooting Victims
BOSTON (CBS) - A moment of silence was held prior to the start of the 117th Boston Marathon to remember the 26 victims of the Newton, Conn. shooting.
There will also be 26 seconds of silence at the starting line before each wave of the race.
Mile marker 26 was recently dedicated to the 26 victims.
Laura Nowacki, a spokeswoman for the Newtown Strong Fund, told WBZ-TV the runners will hit Heartbreak Hill knowing it's nothing like the pain felt by the victims' families.
