Marathon Bombing Trial Jury Sees Carjacking Video, Autopsy Photos

BOSTON (CBS/AP) — Jurors in the trial of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were shown a dramatic video Thursday of a carjacking victim escaping from Tsarnaev and his brother days after the attacks.

The video shows Dzhokhar Tsarnaev going inside a gas station convenience store in Cambridge and filling his arms with drinks and snacks. Then it shows a man bolting from an SUV parked at the gas pumps and running across the street.

Seconds later, a man authorities say is Tamerlan Tsarnaev is seen going to the door of the store. Dzhokhar then runs to the counter and puts the snacks down, then runs quickly to the SUV.

The video shows a clear view of Dzhokhar's face even though he wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

The driver of the carjacked SUV, Dun Meng, then took the stand and went into detail about his encounter with the Tsarnaev brothers.

He described his harrowing ride at gunpoint with the Boston Marathon bombers and the moment he made "the most difficult decision" of his life to bolt from the car.

Meng said Tamerlan Tsarnaev  had jumped into the front passenger seat of his car, pointed a gun at Meng's head and ordered him to drive.

Earlier Thursday, a medical examiner has testified that a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer killed days after the Boston Marathon bombing died of gunshot wounds to the head, including one shot between his eyes.

Dr. Renee Robinson said Officer Sean Collier was shot six times: three times in the head and three times in his right hand.

Prosecutors say Tsarnaev and his brother killed Collier in a failed attempt to steal his gun while fleeing three days after the April 15, 2013, marathon bombing.

Autopsy photos were shown to jurors but not to spectators in the courtroom.

One female juror appeared to wipe a tear from her eyes.

Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured in the bombings.
