Man Who Took Hostages At Hillary Clinton Campaign Office Captured After Escape
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) - Leland Eisenberg is back in custody after walking away from a halfway house in Manchester, New Hampshire on Sunday.
He was caught Monday morning at a social service agency about a mile away when he went in to check the job listings.
A worker knew he had escaped from the halfway house and called police. Eisenberg was arrested at the site shortly thereafter.
Eisenberg, 52, made national headlines in 2007 when he went into a Hillary Clinton campaign office in Rochester and took workers hostage. He had flares strapped to his chest and said he had a bomb.
He was a familiar sight at the Manchester Community Resource Center where he was arrested.
It is unclear if Eisenberg had been planning to run away, but workers say he had recently dyed his hair reddish-brown.
He could have been up for parole in August, but he will now face new charges which could add up to 7 years to his sentence.
