Man Wanted In 4 States Arrested On Amtrak Train With Stun Gun
BOSTON (CBS) - A man wanted in four states was captured on an Amtrak train in Westwood Tuesday, authorities announced Thursday.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said 26-year-old Mark Moskowitz of Brooklyn, New York had a stun gun and six different identification cards on him when he was arrested at the Route 128 commuter rail station.
He was ordered held without bail after he was arraigned Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court on five counts of identity fraud and one count each of possession of an electric stun gun, fare evasion, trespassing, and providing a false name to police.
Amtrak police were called to the train Tuesday after passengers complained that there was a man acting strangely on board.
Investigators said Moskowitz first identified himself as "Mark Lipton," but then said he didn't have any identification or a train ticket.
He was taken into custody and that's when police say they found the electric stun gun in his pocket and six New Jersey identification cards, each with a different name, in one of his bags.
It was during booking at MBTA police headquarters that officers learned that he was wanted on warrants from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York for several charges, including forgery, illegally obtaining prescription drugs, and failure to appear in court.
