Man Wanted For Two Billerica Armed Robberies
BILLERICA (CBS) -- Police are searching for a man who robbed two Billerica package stores at knifepoint within minutes of each other.
As officers were responding to reports of an armed robbery at 129 Liquors shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, another robbery was called in a few miles away at Jim's Quick Stop.
"We have determined that it's the same individual that has committed both of these robberies,"said Billerica Police Chief Roy Frost. "We're actively working right now to try and identify this person."
The suspect was described in both cases as a white man about 5'4" to 5'7" tall, with a medium build, wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans and a camouflage hat. He was also carrying a large knife. The man reportedly demanded money from both stores' cash registers.
The robberies happened while the town was celebrating the crime-prevention program National Night Out.
No one was hurt in either incident.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Billerica Police.
