Man Shot After Exchanging Gunfire With Police In South Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – A man was shot after exchanging gunfire with police in South Boston Wednesday night.
State Police troopers and Boston Police officers responded to reports of a man walking with a gun on Gates Street at about 9pm.
When officers confronted the suspect, he allegedly fired a weapon. According to State Police, "At least one of the police personnel, and possibly more, discharged their weapons in the ensuing exchange of fire."
The man was struck and taken to Boston Medical Center. Boston Police say the man is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
A Boston officer was also injured. That officer's condition is unknown.
The District Attorney's office is investigating.
