Man Killed In Car Crash Was Linked To Hernandez Murder Investigation
BRISTOL, Conn. (CBS) – Police investigating the murder case involving Aaron Hernandez wanted to speak with a man who was killed in a car accident this weekend.
The Hartford Courant reports that Massachusetts investigators were interested in speaking with 33-year-old Thaddeus Singleton III, who was married to Hernandez's cousin.
Singleton was in a car that crashed into a building at a high rate of speed in Farmington, Connecticut early Sunday morning. A woman who was in the car with Singleton has been identified as 27-year-old Tabitha Perry of Bristol. She was injured in the crash but survived.
The car Singleton was driving in was registered to Andres Valderrama, Aaron Hernandez's uncle. Police have been searching Valderrama's Bristol home in recent days. On Friday, Boston Police towed an SUV from the garage of the home. The SUV that was impounded had Rhode Island license plates and matched the description of a vehicle seen speeding away from a double murder in Boston in 2012.
Hernandez, a former tight end for the New England Patriots, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd. His body was found June 17 in an industrial park in North Attleboro.
Ernest Wallace, who has been charged with accessory after the fact in Lloyd's murder, also listed Valderrama's home as his address.
