Man Struck And Killed By Car In Arlington
ARLINGTON (CBS) - A 91-year-old man was struck and killed by a car in Arlington late Monday morning.
Police say the man was in the crosswalk on Massachusetts Avenue near Varnum Street around 11 a.m. when he was struck by a Honda Civic. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 60-year-old Woburn woman, stopped and was questioned by police.
"Dry, clear sunny day, it's hard to figure what happened out there," said Captain Richard Flynn of the Arlington Police.
Investigators used the same Honda Civic to reconstruct the scene that witnesses believe could have been avoided.
"They don't have enough time to cross the street. It's a big street and everyone goes fast," said Themis Boretos who witnessed the accident.
Police have not decided whether or not the driver will face charges.
