Man Dies After Crash On I-495 In Franklin
BOSTON (CBS) - One of the victims in Wednesday morning's crash on Route 495 in Franklin has succumbed to his injuries.
24-year-year old Brian Fuller of Milford, was pronounced dead Wednesday night at Boston Medical Center.
The crash happened on the northbound side in Franklin around 2:30 a.m.
State Police say Fuller hit a guardrail with his 2002 Ford Taurus and then broke down on the highway with his lights off.
It is unknown why Fuller lost control.
Moments later, police say 36-year-old David Cooney of Seekonk came down the middle lane in his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and slammed into the Taurus.
The force of the collision caused the Cherokee to flip over the Taurus and land on its roof between the high-speed lane and the center median.
Both drivers were trapped until rescue personnel arrived. Fuller was transported to Boston Medical Center by helicopter with serious injuries. Cooney was transported to Milford Hospital by ambulance, also with serious injuries.
Most of 495 North in the area was closed for about four hours after the collision.
