Man Charged With Killing Fitchburg Store Clerk
FITCHBURG (CBS) – A liquor store clerk who was shot in the head during a robbery has died.
Investigators say 40-year-old Scott Person was gunned down outside JV's Variety Store on Fairmount Street, just after Person finished his shift late Wednesday night.
According to the District Attorney's office, Person passed away Friday morning from his injuries.
Late Thursday night, police arrested 32-year-old Rafael Garcia-Concepcion and charged him with armed assault with intent to murder and assault with a weapon with intent to commit robbery.
Those charges were upgraded to murder on Friday. Garcia-Concepcio is being held without bail.
Police say he had an accomplice with him at the time of the shooting. That person has not been named and has not been captured.
