Man Charged In Worcester Crash That Killed 2

WORCESTER (AP) -- Worcester police say they have arrested a man on charges connected with a crash that killed two people.

Twenty-two-year-old Robert Curran was placed in police custody Sunday at UMass Memorial Medical Center, where he was being treated after the collision early Sunday. Police say Curran is from South Carolina, but did not specify his hometown.

They say he is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, leaving an accident scene and other motor vehicle offenses.

The charges stem from a collision around 2 a.m. Sunday involving three cars near Piedmont and Chandler streets in Worcester. Police say two Worcester men were killed, but their identities were not immediately released.

Curran remained hospitalized Sunday and could not be reached for comment. Police did not know whether he had an attorney.
