Thirty-nine-year-old Christopher Piantedosi pleaded not guilty to murder at his arraignment in Woburn District Court.

Assistant District Attorney Nicole Allain said Piantedosi stabbed his former girlfriend, Kristen Pulisciano, 34 times with a butcher knife last Thursday evening in the home they once shared.

Allain said Piantedosi and Pulisciano were arguing while their 15-year-old daughter was web chatting with a friend on her iPad in her bedroom.

The daughter came out of the room to intervene and Allain said that's when Piantedosi chased Pulisciano down a hall with the knife.

Pulisciano barricaded herself in her daughter's bedroom, but Piantedosi broke down the door and began stabbing her, authorities said.

As he stabbed her, Allain said the teen's friend witnessed the grisly murder via the iPad, including Pulisciano pleading, "Chris, please stop, I love you," and Piantedosi saying, "You're going to die."

Their daughter called 911.

Piantedosi fled, but turned himself into police Friday afternoon.

It was also revealed in court Monday that Piantedosi attempted suicide earlier in the week, but he was hospitalized and then released the day before the attack.

He was ordered held without bail.
