Former Employee Charged In Boston Area Dunkin' Donuts Robberies
CANTON (CBS) – An arrest has been made in connection with a string of armed robberies at Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the greater Boston area.
On Tuesday morning, officers from several agencies including Canton Police, Boston Police and the FBI, arrested 23-year-old Isaiah Murphy at his Dedham home.
A warrant was issued after weeks of investigation into a rash of over 20 armed robberies. Evidence linking Murphy with the robberies was found at his home. Police say Murphy is a former Dunkin' Donuts employee.
Murphy will be arraigned Wednesday at Stoughton District Court. The investigation is still ongoing.
A $10,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.
Dunkin' Brands released a statement saying they were grateful an arrest has been made.
"We are working with the Canton PD to determine if a tip led to the arrest of the suspect," a spokeswoman said in a statement. "If not, we intend to donate the reward."
