Man Arrested After Taking Pictures Near John Kerry's Boston Home
BOSTON (CBS) -- A potential stalker has been arrested near the Boston home of Secretary of State John Kerry, a spokesman for the former U.S. senator said.
On Sunday afternoon, while Kerry was visiting his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, members of the State Department Diplomatic Security Service observed a man taking a picture of a window at Kerry's Beacon Hill home, spokesman Glen Johnson said.
The State Department officials requested assistance from the Boston Police Department, which questioned the man and later arrested him for possession of an open alcohol container.
Upon searching the man's vehicle, officers observed what turned out to be a pellet gun, Johnson said in a prepared statement.
Johnson referred further questions to the Boston Police Department, which is expected to release an arrest report, he said.
Heinz Kerry is at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital recovering from a seizure she suffered earlier this month.
