Saugus Dunkin' Donuts Robbed

An employee of the store on Route 1 told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that a man walked in around 2 a.m., jumped over the counter, grabbed $20 and then ran off into the woods. He was white, clean shaven, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, with dark pants and may have been armed with a knife.

Police caught Vyacheslav Phinney, 25, of Melrose, a short time later and charged him with assault and armed robbery.

He will be arraigned Thursday in Lynn District Court.

There have been about two dozen Dunkin' Donuts robberies in eastern Massachusetts since March.

It's not clear yet if this is connected to those incidents.

Dunkin' Donuts is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
