Man Allegedly Breaks Into Brockton Home With Teen Inside
BROCKTON (CBS) -- A Roxbury man was arraigned Tuesday on home invasion charges after allegedly breaking into a home in Brockton.
Sixteen-year-old Haleigh Morris was home along Monday afternoon when she says a man began knocking at the front door. She didn't answer because she didn't know home.
"All of a sudden I hear him coming in through the back," Morris said.
She hid in the bathroom when she heard glass break, and called 911. Haleigh could be heard on the call whispering to avoid detection. The bathroom had no lock on the door. Meanwhile, the intruder passed by the bathroom door twice.
Police arrived and arrested 52-year-old Louis Breton of Roxbury right outside the home.
"I have no doubt that God was watching over her and just helped everything to work out well," mother Rashaun Morris said.
Bretton, who has a history of burglary, allegedly broke in through the kitchen window and went right upstairs to ransack bedrooms. Breton apparently had no idea Morris was inside.
Bretton's charges include breaking and entering, larceny, and resisting arrest.
