Manchester, NH Police Officer Fired, Vehicle Investigated In Hit And Run
BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) — The Manchester Police Department has confirmed that one of its police vehicles is being investigated as the possible suspected vehicle in a hit-and-run crash that injured two pedestrians in Bedford.
Two people were hit Friday night at about 9:20 p.m. while walking on Harrod Lane. Authorities say the driver fled the scene without stopping.
Police say one of the victims suffered head trauma and was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The other victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Manchester police said Monday that an unmarked, undercover vehicle is now in the custody of the Bedford police. Authorities say it was assigned to Det. Sgt. Stephen Coco. The Manchester Police Department says an investigation has found that Coco had violated several departmental standard operating procedures and has been fired. The investigation is continuing.
