Lynn teen charged with killing 15-year-old boy

A 16-year-old Lynn boy is facing murder charges in connection with the stabbing death of a 15-year-old Medford boy.
Prosecutors say Javon Walczak is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Lynn District Court on charges of murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Authorities say Rene Valdez was stabbed in the neck and back at about 11 p.m. on Monday.
The victim's relatives tell The Daily Item of Lynn that Valdez was in Lynn to visit family and friends and the stabbing was sparked by some kind of confrontation.
A spokesman for the district attorney's office says the death is still under investigation.
