Robert Paul of Lynn was arraigned Thursday at a Boston hospital where he's being treated for a gunshot leg wound authorities believe he received in the March 29 incident. A judge revoked his bail on an unrelated car burglary case and set bail on the new case at $5,000.
Prosecutors say the 40-year-old Paul was driving a Toyota Yaris that struck Trooper Scott Flaherty while he was working a construction detail with other troopers at Neponset Circle on the Boston-Quincy line. Troopers fired at the car.
Paul's alleged passenger car, Brandon Smith, has pleaded not guilty to car theft charges.
