Lunenburg Dog Carried Away By Hawk, Survives
LUNENBURG (CBS) - A small dog in Lunenburg is recovering after a near-death experience.
The pup was playing in her yard, when out of nowhere a Red-Tailed Hawk swooped down, snagged her, and took off.
WBZ-TV's Bill Shields reports
The hawk dropped Molly in the neighbor's yard with serious wounds from its claws. To make matters worse, the fall left her with a dislocated hip.
But four blood transfusions and some 50 stitches later, Molly is back home recovering.
What's even stranger, a week before Molly was attacked, a Chihuahua-mix just down the road suffered the same fate. That dog is also doing better.
