Lucic Fined $5,000 For Obscene Gesture To Montreal Fans
BOSTON (CBS) -- Milan Lucic will be a little lighter in the wallet thanks to his obscene gesture towards Montreal Canadiens fans on Thursday night.
The Bruins forward was hit with a $5,000 fine, the league announced on Friday.
Lucic made the gesture towards fans as he made his way to the penalty box for a boarding call with just over a minute left to go in the game, with Boston down by just a goal. As he left the box following Montreal's empty net goal to make it 6-4 Canadiens, Lucic was tossed from the game for confronting an official.
The money from Lucic's fine will go to the NHL Players' Emergency Fund.
