Funeral services for Officer Patrick Johnson were held Thursday morning at St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford. Johnson was off duty when he was struck early Saturday morning while riding his motorcycle. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say Theary Chan was drunk and ran a stop sign before hitting Johnson. Chan has pleaded not guilty to charges including motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence. His lawyer has denied he ran a stop sign.
Johnson, a six-year veteran, leaves behind a wife and two young children.
