Lowell Man Injured In Rollover On I-495
CONCORD (CBS) --- Police say a 30-year-old Lowell man was critically injured after a rollover crash early Sunday morning.
At 6:50 a.m., state police responded to Interstate 495 north near exit 28 in Boxborough.
There, police found a Toyota Corolla had rolled over, ejecting the driver.
State Police believe the Toyota hit the tractor-trailer as the driver attempted to change lanes.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the driver of the tractor trailer, a 53 year-old male from Queens, New York, did not know the Toyota made contact with the trailer, police said.
The driver of the Toyota was taken by medical helicopter to University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He was listed in critical condition, Sunday afternoon.
Police have not yet released his name.
The highway was closed until almost 9 a.m.
