Lowell Man Faces Assault, Promoting Prostitution Charges
BOSTON (CBS) -- A man described by police as a pimp is facing a long list of charges.
Harold Jack Lucas of Lowell is accused of running a house of prostitution. Authorities say he preyed on homeless, drug dependent women, providing shelter and feeding their addictions.
In court on Friday, he was arraigned on a number of charges, including assault.
Police say the 57-year-old kicked and punched an unidentfitied woman, who was among several women they say he enticed into prostitution.
He's being held on $50,000 cash bail.
