Her husband, The Tran, was arrested on charges of murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
District Attorney Gerard Leone said Tran allegedly had an abusive and controlling relationship with his wife before the beating. Leone said she was the mother of four children.
Tran was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Lowell District Court, but it was postponed until May 18 so doctors can perform a psychiatric evaluation.
