Lowell man charged in double stabbings
An arrest has been made in the fatal stabbings of two women in Lowell on Friday.
The Middlesex District Attorney's office says Edwin Nunez, 31, of Lowell was arraigned at the Lahey Clinic, where he's being treated for non-life threatening stab wounds.
He's charged in the first-degree murders of Debra Souza, 47, of Lowell and Kayla Michelle Betancourt, 30, of Lowell during what authorities say was a dispute over drugs.
The victims were found inside an apartment on Westford Street.
