Lowell Homeless Shelter May Move Near High School
LOWELL (CBS) - A daytime homeless shelter's potential move to downtown Lowell is of concern for some residents.
The idea is not supported by the mayor, who's concerned about the potential location's proximity to the high school.
It is not clear exactly when and where Living Waters Center of Hope will move to, but one possibility is at the St. Anne Episcopal Church's downtown gym, which is just down the street from the high school.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Bernice Corpuz reports.

School superintendent Jean Franco is reassuring parents the high school is safe and said wherever the nonprofit organization decides to move within the city, school officials will look into the impact on students.
"Safety is like heat in the winter in New England. It is the optimum, most important part of every parent's mission of putting their child in our school system," said Franco.
