Love That Sunshine...

What an awesome day...59 in the city but 70 in Worcester and many other towns away from the water...and of course there was loads of sunshine for a change.  As nice as it was, it's about to change.

A storm system is working in from the Midwest and this one will not fly right through, it will actually take its sweet time leaving us with a generally unsettled week ahead.  Our first round of showers will be moving through tomorrow morning...just a few though.  Much of the day will be rain-free however as most of the forcing will be well north and west of the area.  This means that some pretty heavy rain will be falling for most of the day in Northern New England.  A coldfront will be closing in from the west.  It pretty much fizzles as it moves through but it will provide more lift so that the shower threat increases late on Tuesday and rain is likely Tuesday night.

Another surge of warmth moves through Wednesday morning and will likely produce some heavy downpours.  As the warmfront lifts through, temps will rise and so will the humidity.  Add a little sunshine to the mix and you have a recipe for possible thunderstorms in the afternoon.  SImilar conditions will be present on Thursday too.

By Friday, the surface fronts will be offshore cooler air will have returned but a cold pool of air high in the atmosphere will create an unstable environment when the sun comes out.  This means a sun cloud combo and pop-up showers that could include some rumbles of thunder accompanied by hail.  That cold pool will still be overhead on Saturday so another afternoon shower chance.  However, by Mother's Day, it should shift to our East leaving us and more importantly our Moms with some amazing weather to finish the weekend.
