Love It Or Hate It: 'Selfie Song' Catching On

BOSTON (CBS) --- Love it or hate it, the "#Selfie song" is catching on.

"#Selfie" by The Chainsmokers may sound like a parody but it's riding the wave of a selfie obsessed nation. Its music video features 20-somethings in a nightclub bathroom mirror talking about the other people in the club, fixing their hair and planning to smoke a cigarette. But, before they can do any of the aforementioned things, they of course, have to take a selfie.

The video then features a strobe-like progression of selfies, plucked from the interwebs.

And as if the song needed any more street cred, the music video has a cameo by the "The Hoff" himself.

Once the selfie is taken however, the tough questions begin such as what filter to use and how to pick the appropriate hashtag.

"Can you guys help me pick a filter? I don't know if I should go with XX Pro or Valencia. I wanna look tan. What should my caption be? I want it to be clever," the song says.

TJ, the morning show host for AMP Radio says not to get too used to the song - it, perhaps like the selfie, is just a trend.
