Loui Eriksson To Miss Tuesday's Game Due To 'Minor Issue'
BOSTON (CBS) -- Bruins winger Loui Eriksson will not play on Tuesday night against the Florida Panthers due to what head coach Claude Julien deemed to be a "minor issue."
Eriksson, 28, has missed 20 games this season after suffering a concussion in October and sustaining another concussion in December. However, this issue does not appear to be related, as Julien said he expects Eriksson back in the lineup when the Bruins play on Thursday.
Eriksson played in both Bruins games over the weekend, registering a pair of assists in Sunday night's win in New York over the Rangers.
The Swede also participated in the Olympics, winning a silver medal while scoring two goals and adding an assist in his six games in Sochi.
Of course, given that the league's trade deadline comes Wednesday, each and every roster announcement is met with suspicion. While there are no details about Eriksson's "minor issue," there's no indication that his absence on Tuesday has anything to do with the trade deadline.
Jordan Caron is expected to play in Eriksson's place, with Brad Marchand taking Eriksson's spot on the power play.
