Looks More Like A 'Miss'

We will see a glimpse or two of sunshine this morning before clouds take over.  As a low pressure system and its accompanying cold front near the region, light rain showers will develop this evening after 6pm. There will be areas, including the higher elevations and southern NH, which will see a rain/snow mix overnight.  Northern New England and the accompanying ski resorts will receive a few inches of snow tonight.  Highs will be in the middle to upper 40s today along with a light breeze.

Then, the precipitation will come to a halt around midday Friday. There will be about .10-.25" of rain from this system. Then, there will be increasing sunshine throughout the afteroon as we end the day with a gorgeous sunset.  High temperatures will remain mild in the upper 40s. Cold air advection will create gustier winds by the evening.

This weekend is looking more and more like a 'miss'.  Saturday is showing increasing cloudiness in the afternoon with a few flurries and snow showers possible during the evening and at night.  Due to a split flow in the jetstream, it is looking less likely for a potential storm on Sunday. Since we are still about 72 hours away, this track may continue to change. Currently, the models keep the best 'lift' offshore, southeast of the 'benchmark'.  We will keep you updated.

Here's a look at the latest GFSx solution...This solution would bring some snow showers to extreme southeastern Massachusetts.
